Stadiums, presidents, and other news from Lune’s climate projects

When we fund climate projects, how can we ensure they’re having the real positive impact they claim to have? It’s a request we often get from our Lune customers.

We want all our sustainability champions to know about the projects they’re supporting. In doing so they can feel confident in their decision, easily share the news with their stakeholders, and celebrate the successes.

So, to help bring the impact of climate contributions to life, we’re publishing quarterly updates from Lune’s library of curated, high-quality carbon projects (we won’t have updates for every project every time, but we’ll share what we do) – and this is the update for Q1 2024.

Enough carbon capture to fill a stadium 13 times

CarbonCure, a leader in mineralising captured carbon and permanently storing it in concrete, celebrates a monumental achievement: producing 50 million cubic yards of lower-carbon concrete, enough to fill the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium 13 times.

It’s an incredible milestone that marks the reduction and removal of 400,000 metric tons of CO2 from the atmosphere. The equivalent of the annual emissions from over 88,000 cars or the carbon sequestration of 477,000 acres of forests.

At Lune, we love hearing how these innovative carbon capture technologies are beginning to realise their true potential. Congrats to the team and all those who have funded the project!

English class starts in Keo Seima

The Keo Seima REDD+ Project is offering English classes to the indigenous Bunong children within the Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary. These classes are more than just language lessons; they are lessons in the possibilities that emerge when we link environmental action with social upliftment.

At Lune, we're moved by this seamless integration of conservation and education, showcasing the expansive impact of innovative carbon credit projects beyond mere carbon sequestration.
