One of the most powerful opportunities for accelerating climate action lies in creating greener supply chains. It’s also one of the most complicated challenges to realistically achieve. A common request we hear from key players within the supply chain space,  logistics and procurement companies, is for enhanced emission calculations to help account for the particular nitty gritty details specific to their respective worlds. So we’ve assigned deep focus to building just that — creating new value for our customers in the form of greater control over supply chain emissions with enhanced emissions factors.

Today, we are sharing the latest developments within the Lune API and platform — all geared towards helping our customers feel confident that the climate impact they’re creating is comprehensive and reliable.

What’s new in Lune:

  • Improved Activity-Based Emissions Calculations: Gain even better visibility into emissions using more granular product categories and materials. Lune now features activity-based emissions calculations with 1,000+ standard emissions factors and nearly 40,000 premium emissions factors.
  • Procurement Integration Guide: Explore the step-by-step API integration guide to integrate climate impact into the B2B procurement process. This is just one example implementation, bringing together suppliers and buyers with emissions visibility and greener supply chains.
  • Warehouse Emissions Calculations: You can now include carbon emissions from warehousing, transhipment sites, or maritime container terminals in your shipping emissions calculations. They are a small part of the overall shipment emissions, but if you want to get granular, now you can!
  • Create Surveys to Test Customer Demand: It can be tough to build a business case for climate. So we’ve made it easy to create and distribute customer surveys to help identify available demand for your new climate offering
  • Expanded Dashboard Analytics: Track emissions calculations and get a clear view of the carbon projects you and your customers support — all easily downloadable for your sustainability report.

Customer Success Stories:

Hearing the impact our customers have through Lune gives us hope for a greener future. Check out some of the success stories coming out of our community:

  • IDEO renewed their annual carbon offsetting with Lune, committing over 1/3 of their budget into permanent carbon removal with UNDO Enhanced Rock Weathering.
  • Moomin renewed their annual €100,000 carbon offset purchase aligned with the Oxford Offsetting Principles. Evidence of strong climate commitment, where they set a monetary offsetting budget instead of going for cheaper offsets.
  • Multiple companies around the US are buying carbon credits through the Salesforce Net Zero Marketplace, which uses Lune’s high-quality traditional carbon offset projects.
