2. Biofuel vs. Electric Fleets

The debate between biofuel and electric fleets emerged as a crucial consideration in the quest for greener transportation. The advantages and drawbacks of each technology were thoroughly examined, shedding light on their viability, scalability, and environmental impact. As the industry looks for viable alternatives to traditional fossil fuel-powered vehicles, this discussion provided valuable insights into the future of freight transportation.

3. Verified Credits, Tokens, Blockchain, and Artificial Intelligence

In an era where data and technology play pivotal roles in business operations, discussions around verified credits, tokens, blockchain, and artificial intelligence were inevitable. The potential of these tools to enhance transparency, traceability, and efficiency in emissions tracking and reporting was explored. With the emergence of blockchain technology and AI-powered solutions, the industry is poised for transformative changes, enabling stakeholders to effectively monitor and reduce their carbon footprints.

Climate trends we found interesting:

1. Emissions Regulations and Pathways to Implementation

Attendees gained insights into the latest EU and international regulations impacting the sustainability sector. With a focus on future legal expectations, discussions revolved around the implementation of these regulations and the subsequent impact on the industry. Notably, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations took centre stage, emphasising the need for a collective effort to achieve sustainability goals.

2. The Future of Emission Calculations, Reporting, Tracking, and Verification

Transparency, granularity, and quality emerged as key factors in the future of emission calculations, reporting, tracking, and verification. Stakeholders recognized the importance of reliable data and robust systems to ensure accurate carbon footprint assessments. Lune, known for its commitment to transparency and quality, resonated strongly with this focus on data-driven sustainability.

3. Advancing the Freight decarbonisation Journey

Collaboration emerged as a key driver in advancing the freight decarbonisation journey. Participants explored innovative solutions through partnerships, insetting and offsetting alternatives, and the implementation of Book and Claim Chain of Custody Systems. By pooling resources and expertise, the industry aims to tackle the complex challenges of reducing emissions and creating a more sustainable future for freight transportation.
